The Hansen Power Amplifier is designed for the audio purist with the shortest signal path between input and output. Great sound synergy can be obtained when the Hansen Power Amplifiers are matched with the Hansen Valve Pre-Amplifier. Purity, dynamics and excellent bass describe the sound of these power amplifiers. The listening pleasure of these power amplifiers is in the fine details and "air" of the sound recording with clarity and ease re-creating the three dimensional sound stage of the original. Mid-band reproduction is accurate and detailed and bass is deep with good bottom end information and control. Available upgrades take these power amplifiers to a level of sound well beyond the monetary value. These Power Amplifiers will bring great listening pleasure in any system.
The input signal is passed through three Class-A amplification stages before reaching the final Class AB output stage. Mosfets are used throughout the signal path. Power supply has high speed diodes and good quality capacitors with values far above the standard requirements so as to improve dynamics in the sound, smoothing of the voltage rail and noise reduction. Bypass capacitors are inserted in all critical positions on both power supplies and in the audio section. Heat-sinks are not only used for the purpose of heat dissipation but also for shields and are inserted between the power supply sections and the audio areas to reduce noise transfer. All resistors in the audio stage are matched. A toroidal transformer of much higher capacity than required is used. Eight Power Mosfets are used on the output capable of transferring high current to the speaker from the power supply giving the sound great dynamics. After warm up, the power output with a 1kHz signal tone into 8 Ohms is 150W, into 6,1 Ohms is 220W and into 3,9 Ohms is 290W. Protection is in the form of a mains fuse and DC power supply fuses. There is a temperature sensor on the main heat-sink which will cut the input sound to a low level should the temperature of the heat-sink rise above 70°C. HANSEN Power Amplifiers are designed for operation with 230VAC mains input.
